I'm doing sewing and I'm still alive
Hello,
Except for some Thursday Accessories post I have been away from this blog. So enjoy this scene of my desk from late last night. I've been working away on some super fun custom pieces along with getting ready for Baz Biz Cleveland. Due to some unexpected issues this will be the only show I'll be doing this holiday season so Cleveland will have loads of squid to choose from.
That also means that my etsy shop will be stocked for the holidays as it has never been stocked before. Everything will be up for the Monday after Thanksgiving and every order until the new year will include a gift of a free mini squid. So if you missed me in your city this year please check out my shop and grab something if it tickles your fancy.
Thanks friends,
Bethany

I am sick.
Totally, totally sick. I am spending my time cuddled up on the couch with this guy sewing a special squid and waiting for Fringe to become good. I hear it takes half a season.

Pittsburgh Public Market This Sunday!
![]() |
| We'll be taking a break on Sunday from our never-ending unpacking (I didn't realize how much stuff I owned for Cleo Dee's and how hard it is to openly store it in an appealing manner). Locals can come to the Strip District to buy our wares at the Pittsburgh Public Market. We'll be there from 10am-4pm, June 26th. |

catch up
I hurt my shoulder sewing a large pile of squidtivity faces and backs so I decided to play catch up on other work. Essential work such as embroidery organization and finally making various sizes of produce and bulk bags. The main thing has been trying to figure out our new and much more complex camera. Our old one was dying. Whites were gray and blacks and any dark colors would blend into dark backgrounds. These two problems made the squid photos pretty worthless. The learning curve is steep but hey, at least my cat finally shows up in photos again.

Mark on the Beast
Ico came back from his vet check up with the advice to loose weight, schedule an appointment for a teeth cleaning to combat the bleeding gums he has and also with a chip. We figured we should get him microchipped since our new place leads directly outside and he is a bit of a runner when he's afraid. But most importantly about this event were the papers you receive with your chip. First is the certificate. I think this is the closest Ico will ever come to a diploma. Perhaps we'll hang it over his litter box.
The next was a fear filled brochure on why to get your pet chipped. Keep in mind, we did decided to do it so I do think it's a fantastic idea depending on your situation but Scott and I both find advertising amusing. Especially the kind that wants to play on a particular emotion. Can you figure out what that emotion is?
Given the fact that losing your pet is normally in the back of your mind most days anyway, I don't think you really need to have a 6 page brochure with illustrations of sad little girls in giant golden shoes driving the point home about how crappy said day would be. They really could have just given out pieces of paper saying "Losing your pet will literally rip your soul out of your body but this chip will hopefully make that gaping hole not last as long. But you already knew that so here are some numbers to get a small sense of security. You're welcome". Then they could have called it a day and gone back to doubling up on a horse.

| Almost enough fear to distract me from that fabulous photo in the corner...almost. |

Welcome!
Well I've spent almost 6 years on the livejournal but it was finally time for a change. This new area will be similar to the old but I promise to keep up on it more in a very spiffy way. You can believe me because I've already typed repeating reminders into my phone.
And this:
Oh, and of course you will get this, possibly more than you could want but I highly doubt you could ever get enough:
Dude, I am serious.
So hey, welcome and I hope you stick around. If you do you'll get lots of this:| spears! |
